The constructive explosion protection system of Rembe is a passive one and requires no maintenance from part of the supplier. Once installed no further running costs occur. New materials and intensive research led to the development of the Q-Box system which is a flameless venting device like the ECO-Q-Rohr. This system is especially developed for elevators or low resistant enclosures with large vent areas like bag houses or silos. This kind of equipment is often located outside but the flame front coming from the explosion vents endanger, e.g. truck ways or personnel stairways. The Q-Box is suitable for indoor and outdoor use and increases the safety of the plant by low investment costs. New plants as well as expositing installations can be retrofitted as the Q-Box fits to standard size of explosion vents and can easily be exchanged.
