KSB Group’s head of Research, Dr. Sönke Brodersen, will be President of Europump for the coming two years. He was elected by the General Assembly of the umbrella association of European pump manufacturers in Amsterdam. Brodersen has represented the German pump industry within Europump since 2005.
The umbrella association and represents 18 national specialist associations in 15 EU member states, Russia, Turkey and Switzerland. Europump currently comprises more than 450 pump manufacturers which employ a total of 100,000 staff and generate a production volume of over Euro 10 billion. It is a key counsel to the European Commission in environmental and energy matters in relation to pump systems.
“The pump industry enjoys excellent reputation both inside and outside of Europe, as pump manufacturers are often pioneers dedicated to saving energy, in particular,” explains Brodersen. “In addition, newly adopted EU directives have great influence on the pump markets. For this reason, KSB has been strongly committed to Europump’s causes for many years.”
Brodersen has been Head of Research of the KSB Group since 2008. After he joined KSB in 1990, he filled several positions at different sites.
