One of the essential advantages of Coperion’s rotary valves in comparison to the more conventional screw pumps lies in the considerable saving in energy. Power requirements – and hence energy costs – are reduced by more than 90 % compared to systems equipped with screw pumps. Added to this is the fact that wear-protected rotary valves provide a longer operating life by up to 50 %. A further decisive advantage is the negligible time – and hence cost – of converting a system for use with rotary valves. Either no or only very negligible changes have to be made to the layouts of the piping system and the compressed air supply lines. As rotary valves are relatively small in comparison to conventional systems, there are no space requirement problems to contend with. In order to tailor wear protection exactly to the customer’s needs, Coperion has developed a six-step wear protection concept.
