Bonomi developed a variety of valve solutions for critical conditions, including high temperatures or abrasive services. First among these is the Valpres Series 760 V-Pack valve with Valbia pneumatic actuator, a split-body valve designed for chemical and industrial process applications. Available with face-to-face design in accordance with European standard UNI EN 558, the valves of the 760 Series with V-Pack system design can reach a design pressure of 100 bars and service temperatures from -40 to 180 °C. Equipped with the V-Pack system, a special techno-polymer PTFE gasket used for sealing the valve stems, the valves are said to guarantee a perfect seal. The main features of this technological solution are broad chemical compatibility with a wide range of fluids (including foods) and low-friction values.
Next is the Penta system SAT Series valves, which are designed to be equipped with metal seats, using the common metal seats on the market or metal seats in Pentafite, the only self-lubricating seat made internally using a metal matrix compound with solid lubricant dispersion. The special construction ensures zero leakage for services with continuous operating temperatures up to 720°C or pressures up to 420 bars. The SAT3 model is an evolution of the SAT Series featuring the insertion of two rings (called scraper rings) inside and outside the seats that which allows users to clean the surface of the ball during operations and protects seats from the abrasive action of the solid parts contained in the fluid. This configuration also prevents the jamming of such solid parts between the seat and the ball, which would cause the valve to block, and reduces the amount of dirt and debris that can settle in the valve’s body cavity. SAT, SAT CRIO, and SAT3 valves are available with floating or Trunnion-mounted balls, with reduced- or full-bore, and are all equipped with automatic venting of overpressure in the body cavities, as well as stem extension for high temperatures or cryogenic services.
