Sauer has increased the product range of air-cooled high-pres-sure compressors with the Tornado series, consisting of the three-stage WP 3215 and the four-stage WP 4325. The compressors provide the following benefits:
- High-pressure performance – 225 to 400 l/min – to 420 bar
- Low operating temperatures
- Low vibration
The Tornado design principle is based upon the water-cooled WP 5000 Navy compressor with the vertical arrangement for the running gear and the star-arrangement for the cyl-inders. This design configuration is distinguished by the very small foot-print needed and for the low values for airbourne noise and vibration. The low outlet temperature of 5 °C above ambient, as well as a maximum 3 mg/m³ residual oil content, considerably reduce the expenditure required for downstream filtration and improve service life. Direct-drive, pressure-oil lubrication with slide bearings for the crankshaft ensure reliability with low-maintenance operation and servicing intervals.
