Single-use mixer for the bioprocess industry
Pall Life Sciences introduces the Levmixer system, which is a mobile, flexible mixing system for a wide range of volumes in a broad series of applications. The system consists of an interchangeable superconducting drive unit and a single-use mixing bag with an integrated levitating impeller. The mixing bag is fitted into either plastic tanks located on a trolley or stainless steel tanks. Coupling of the impeller with the drive requires no dynamic seals or shaft penetration inside the
single-use system. Effective mixing is achieved with low rotational speed of the impeller. Thus mechanical shear or particle generation are minimised and the integrity of sensitive products is protected. The drive motor can be easily disconnected from the mixing system and reconnected, allowing operating multiple single use systems in sizes of 30 to 2000 l with a single drive unit.
