Increased mixing intensity is the key feature of the Vitomix from Hosokawa Micron. The double conical screws provide up to eight times more transport volume than conventional conical screw mixers such as the Vrieco-Nauta. The Vitomix displays even more flexibility with the possibility to add large quantities of liquids on powder.
The upper part of the mixer cone is used to create a fluidised bed where liquids such as water, oils and fats can be evenly distributed. In 98 % of the cases the result is a fully homogenous and lump-free end mixture without the use of lump breakers.
Cohesive, segregating powders as well as light and floating products are just as easy to mix in as powders with good flowing properties. Even fragile components will be gently and quickly mixed in without reducing them in size. The intensity and turbulence brought by the fast rotating double screws make it even suitable for preparation of viscous pastes, emulsions and slurries with high bulk densities.
