Baumer offers the electrical pressure transmitter of the ED 701 series with a range of additional features so that it is highly suitable for hygienic pressure measuring. The aseptic Clamp pressure connection according to DIN 11864–3 is compatible to the EHEDG specifications and fits to stainless steel pipes according to the DIN 11866 stand-ard. Since certain limits for the ferrite content in the used stainless steel are demanded in the pharmaceutical industry, a certificate proves the content of this component. In order to reduce the surface roughness, the process connections can be electro-polished. The ED 701 is available in different roughness classes. For applications with oxygen, the process connection has to be completely free of oil and grease. With the ED 701 this can be achieved by using halocarbon oil as filling liquid and a specific cleaning, whereas for applications in the food industry, the standard oil filling is white oil. Depending on the application, other materials can be used. For example, the whole pressure connection can be provided in Hastelloy C or the wetted parts can be provided with a thin gold coating to guarantee highest possible resistance against corrosion.
