The expansion of the Jumo tecline Lf-VA series as per Data Sheet 202924 has seen the development of two more measuring cells (K = 0.1 and K = 0.01). Shortening the active measurement electrodes also allows them to be installed for smaller pipe diameters and lower sample volumes. Essential requirements for the design of the sensor were to follow the hygienic design standards of EHEDG for shape and materials, and to comply with the rules of ASTM International and Pharmacopoeia Europaea (Ph. Eur.). The sensor can be used in production plants of ultra-pure water for the pharmaceutical, food and biotechnology industries.
Conductive conductivity sensors working on the 2-electrode principle are used to measure pure and ultra-pure water with conductivities of 0.05 (18.3 MΩ) 500 µS/cm. The cell constants of the sensors are crucial for getting the best measurement results. When measuring ultra-pure water of optimum quality (>1 µS/cm), it is therefore essential to use a measuring cell with the cell constant K = 0.01. Cells with K = 0.1 are used in the range from 10 to 500 µS/cm.
