The level, volume or mass of liquids in pressure-overlaid containers or vacuum tanks is frequently determined by means of differential pressure. The most frequently mentioned problems of conventional differential pres-sure measurements with pressure piping or oil-filled capillaries are high total cost of ownership, inaccuracies and increased process risks from potential leaks. With the electronic FMD72 differential pressure system from Endress+Hauser, these problems can be eliminated. No more clogged pressure piping and greatly reduced temperature effects – and all of that with an utterly simple installation. Reliability, safety and cost-efficiency are further advantages of this electronic differential pressure system. Deltabar FMD72 consists of a transmitter and two sensor modules. The transmitter calculates the differential pressure from the two sensors and forwards the level, volume or mass to the controller using 4 to 20 mA. By not using capillary or sensing lines, the level measurement has a high accuracy and reproducibility. Not using sensing lines and additional fittings provides increased safety.
