Larson Electronics developed an explosion proof drone designed for monitoring, surveying, and deployment of objects in hazardous environments and industrial facilities. This powerful drone offers a maximum distance of 3.2 miles and 22 minutes of flight time. The EXDR-LE10-CMR-R1 explosion proof drone is rated for use in Class I, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups A, B, C, and D; and Class II, Divisions 1 and 2, Groups E, F, and G hazardous locations. It features eight rotors and can reach maximum speeds of 18 m/s with no wind.
The drone features three GPS sensors for optimised tracking and features a vibration absorber located on the bottom of the device. It comes with a remote controller to control the unit and operates at 2.400 to 2.483 GHz, or 5.725 to 5.825 Hz frequencies. The drone can take on a wide range of configurations depending on the needs of the operator. It can accommodate an infrared camera on the bottom of the unit to monitor thermal gas leaks on large structures. It can also be equipped with a heavy-duty hook to hold bags, sacks, boxes, and other small payloads.
