Enhancements to the Foundation fieldbus capabilities of the Micro Motion Model 2700 transmitter include the ability to deliver new density calculations. While the improved Micro Motion Model 2700 transmitter maintains its superior measurement accuracy of mass flow, volume flow, density and temperature, it can now calculate relative density and °API at the user’s selected standard temperature utilising the equations for hydrocarbon fluids provided in the API Manual of Petroleum Measurement Standards. In addition, using predefined algorithms, the transmitter can also calculate enhanced density variables such as reference density, true specific gravity, concentrations, %Solids, °Brix, °Plato, °Balling, and %HFCS.
The Micro Motion Model 2700 transmitter with Foundation fieldbus functionality adds to the broad family of intelligent field devices that power operations efficiencies and savings by Emerson’s PlantWeb digital plant architecture. As a component of PlantWeb, the Micro Motion Model 2700 transmitter further strengthens the digital plant architecture’s proven ability to improve plant efficiency by 2 % or more through delivering asset optimisation, process automation, and management execution.
