Acids and alkalis, as well as solids-laden media, pose enormous demands on the media-contacted components of pumps in chemical applications due to their highly abrasive properties. This company specialises in the manufacturing of centrifugal pumps optimized for such challenges and will present an advanced chemical standardised pump at Achema, expanding the application range of standardised pumps for operators. This new offering is a chemical standardized pump equipped with a special polyurethane lining. This advancement offers numerous advantages for operators, including a modular design, providing the possibility of being used in demanding environments that are considered challenging for standard pumps. The standardised chemical pump is designed according to ISO 2858, based on the proven HPK Series pf pumps. As with the HPK series, all media-contacting wear parts in the chemical standardised pump are coated with a special polyurethane, known under the brand name APFlex. These special polyurethane blends are in-house developments of the company, proving to be resistant to water absorption due to their polymer structure. The standardised pump is lined with polyurethane, offering not only high wear protection but also improved resistance to aggressive chemicals. The APFlex lining of the pumps is, depending on the size, well-suited for extreme stress in abrasive and/or corrosive areas with scatter grain up to 10 mm. The chemical standardised pump is resistant to most processing oils and has an increased temperature resistance of up to 95 °C. With the use of APFlex, it can now be used in environments that would traditionally pose a challenge for standard pumps. Moreover, this advancement is characterised by its maintenance-friendly design. Wear-prone parts can be easily replaced to maintain the pump‘s efficiency and minimize downtime. The pumps offer a wide range of available polyurethane linings, whose selection depends on chemical, thermal, mechanical or abrasive stresses, and a delivery rate between 15 and 400 m3/h.
