Unaffected level measurement

In industrial plants, non-destructive testing is regularly carried out using gamma sources. However, radiometric level measurements can be influenced by exactly this radiation. The XIP function implemented by Berthold can prevent the measured value from being falsified by external radiation. The measured value is frozen when interfering radiation is detected and signalled accordingly via a digital output. The external radiation detection takes place in two ways: exceeding a threshold value that would not be reached during normal measurement and/or a sudden change in the count rate that would not occur during normal operation.
