Krones presents an intelligent valve with the option to monitor the seal‘s situation in the installed state. This valve is an outcome of a development project launched by Evoguard and Syskron. Seal monitoring is achieved by a sensor cable connected to the seal for signal interchange. Signal lamps on the valve that light up in the colour codings green (OK), amber (schedule replacement) and red (replace) provide the operator with a visual indication of the valve‘s condition. In parallel, the data additionally obtained directly from the seal are integrated via an A/D converter to the data pool of the key performance indicators (KPIs). They supplement information with regard to a machine‘s performance, such as the number of valve strokes and their duty time, which are thereupon automatically available in a cloud solution.
