With Bekasteel, Steuler-KCH has added another product to its portfolio of lining systems. Bekasteel is made of stainless steel and is perfectly suited for the use in areas that are subjected to high thermal, chemical and mechanical stress. It can be applied in numerous ways for discharge and collecting basins, as well as for reliably protecting storage tanks, collecting pits and drainage channels.
The usually three-millimetre-thick stainless steel panels are available in a multitude of versions, with both smooth and non-stick as well as non-slip surfaces, and in square or rectangular formats. The individual elements are prefabricated at the factory. There are 48 tie rods per square metre on the reverse side for making the connection to the underlying surface. The system copes easily with large temperature fluctuations, and even short-term peaks of up to 160 °C. The individual panels are welded together using the TIG/MIG meth-od. The tie rods underneath are embedded in an epoxy screed that is cemented to the floor of the structure. Stainless steel composite anchors are welded to the welding seams and these anchors extend into the underlying concrete surface in accordance with the building regulations.
