Multistage pump to reduce whole life cost

Sterling-Sihi has complemented their Sihi-multi range of premium efficiency multi stage pumps with a sub-100 bar unit that has a perfect fit with the Bio-mass power process. The MSC multistage pump complements the existing MSL (40 bar), MSM (63 bar), and MSH (160 bar) families. With permissible temperatures in the region of 180 °C, the range offers a volumetric flowrate in excess of 220 m³/h. Importantly, the unit has purposely been designed for use with wide ranging variable speed drives. In other words, the inner details of the pump will accommodate high and low flow rates with an equal degree of component reliability due to sufficient lubrication. The MSC also employs the highly regarded method of balancing the rotating assembly. By eliminating the critically-tight clearances, which surround conventional balancing drums, Sihi has simply removed the problem of wear-induced efficiency loss that occurs over time.

Comparatively low NPSH requirement of the Sihi-multi product family, is another benefit. The end-suction configuration has not only reduced the NPSH requirement for pumping prod-ucts near to their boiling point, but also provides a basis for only one mechanical seal. Meeting the technical requirements of ISO 5199 provides independent assurance that this modular prod-uct has the ability to help with reduced site inventory based on long-term reliability, while simplifying maintenance.
