The flow meter type 8098, part of the Flowave product family, has been further developed. In addition to precise flow measurement, it now provides additional information: for example, the integrated detection of gas bubbles allows rapid response in the event of process faults. The density factor enables quick detection of fluid changeovers. In addition, viscosity compensation enables precise measurements even with highly viscous liquids. Besides Bürkert’s own BÜS, the standard protocols Canopen and Industrial Ethernet (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP) are supported for digital communication. The flowmeter operates according to the Surface Acoustic Waves (SAW) method, which uses surface waves for measurement. With this process, there are no installed fittings or constructions. In addition, there is no contact between the sensor elements and the medium, thus making the process ideal for hygienic applications.
