Stainless steel screw pump
The L3NX screw pump from Leistritz has the same geometrical dimensions as standard centrifugal and chemical pumps. It is made completely of stainless steel and can be sealed with mechanical seals or using a magnetic clutch. It is thus ideally suited for use with corrosive and toxic fluids. The pump was developed in cooperation with Bayer Material Science. The main focus was on increasing efficiency. Compared to the centrifugal pump, the L3NX screw pump achieves considerably higher efficiency in the specific rotational speed range of 1 to 20 – even when conveying fluids similar to water. Thus, the use of screw pumps saves a considerably higher amount of energy. The pump is equipped with only two static seals in order to reduce the risk of leakage. Due to the O-rings and the magnetically coupled shaft seal, it is compliant with the German Clean Air Act (TA-Luft). It has a hydrostatically balanced spindle package and therefore does not require an extra bearing. The complete liner unit can be replaced if necessary without having to remove the pump from the system.
