Degussa for Pharmaceuticals is an innovative service platform incorporating all Degussa products as well as development and application services for the pharmaceutical industry. It covers the entire value chain for drug manufacturing, from new active ingredient, via its synthesis and building blocks, right through to dosage and controlled release within the body.
Degussa for Pharmaceuticals is divided into two sections, Synthesis and Formula-ting. The product range in Synthesis covers an extremely wide range of intermediates, pharmaceutical active ingredients, nucleic acids and their derivatives, homogeneous and heterogeneous chemical and biocatalysts for production of, e.g., enantiomerically pure molecules, solvents and silicon-based auxiliaries. The Formulating section covers a wide range of patented systems for controlled release in the entire gastro-intestinal tract, and of formulating aids for all types of dosage forms (like tablets, syrups, infusion solutions or suppositories) as well as aromatic and flavoring agents.
