Josef Mehrer Maschinenfabrik achieved a turnover of 19.5 million euros in 2012. Despite the euro crisis and the weakening economy, Mehrer expects sales to increase to nearly 21 million in 2013. The medium-scale company from Balingen in south-west Germany has a staff of 110 employees and 12 trainees. Production takes place exclu-sively in Germany. A good 70 % of all compressors manufactured are exported. The firm is represented through 29 partners in 47 countries. Buyers of Mehrer compressors come mainly from the chemical, petrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, the food and beverages sector or mecha-nical engineering. There are also various applications in environmental engineering.
